Blancpain has at last revealed its highly anticipated regular 42mm-diameter Fifty Fathoms timepiece, driven by its in-house caliber 1315 boasting a 5-day power reserve. Following the introduction of its inaugural case of this dimension in stainless steel with last year's Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 limited edition (and the Scuba Fifty Fathoms in Bioceramic), the brand now presents it exclusively in red gold and Grade 23 titanium as part of its standard collection.

In 2003, Blancpain's President & CEO Marc A. Hayek breathed new life into the Fifty Fathoms, propelling it into the 21st century. The introduction of the 45-mm Fifty Fathoms Automatique in 2007 marked the beginning of a new era for the iconic timepiece, featuring the specially developed Calibre 1315. This movement later found its way into the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 released in 2023, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the original model with a limited edition featuring a 42-mm case.

The new 42-mm (42.3 mm to be precise) Fifty Fathoms Automatique watches retain the proportions of their predecessors and are now available in red gold and Grade 23 titanium. Grade 23 titanium is known for its lightweight nature, high resistance to scratches and corrosion, and anti-allergenic properties. These timepieces also feature the collection's signature sapphire-topped bezel.

Powering these new Fifty Fathoms Automatique watches is the Calibre 1315, which boasts a 5-day power reserve, thanks to its three series-coupled barrels. The movement is equipped with an 18K red gold oscillating weight, adorned with an NAC coating and inspired by the rotor of the historical 1953 version.

The red gold and titanium versions of the Fifty Fathoms Automatique are offered with either a blue or black dial and a variety of strap options in matching colors. These straps range from sail-canvas to NATO and include a Tropic textured rubber iteration inspired by the 1953 model. Additionally, the collection features a titanium bracelet to complement the case in the same material. Prices for these timepieces start at CHF 15,300 for the titanium version on a textile strap.
