Blancpain introduces a new variant of its Villeret Perpetual Calendar.

This new Blancpain Villeret's variant looks like a Green Swiss Forest

Blancpain's Villeret Watch

The charming village of Villeret, Blancpain's birthplace, lends its name to the brand's quintessential collection. This collection epitomizes Blancpain's rich heritage, showcasing the brand's technical expertise and design ethos. With clean lines, clear dials, and slender double-stepped cases, these timepieces exude Blancpain's signature elegance. Behind their refined exteriors lie movements crafted with state-of-the-art mechanical precision. The collection encompasses a range of sophisticated complications, from ultra-thin models to tourbillons and chronographs, culminating in the inclusion of the perennial favorite: the perpetual calendar.

In celebration of a leap year, Blancpain unveils a new iteration of the Villeret Perpetual Calendar, featuring a captivating green dial for the first time. Enhanced with a sun ray-brushed finish, the deep green shade draws inspiration from the lush forests surrounding Le Brassus, the brand's home since 1735. Serving as a striking canvas for the applied Roman numerals and delicate hands, the dial exudes a sense of sophistication and natural allure.

As enthusiasts of this intricate calendar complication are aware, the perpetual calendar possesses a mechanical memory that accurately displays the date, even during leap years. This remarkable timepiece will require no adjustment until February 2100, a year devoid of February 29th, as is the case in all years divisible by 100 but not by 400. This unique exception arises in the Gregorian calendar every three out of four centuries.

At Blancpain, the intricate perpetual calendar mechanism is accompanied by a moon phase display featuring a charming "man in the moon" face. This iconic feature symbolizes Blancpain's revitalization of the moon-phase indication following the quartz crisis in the 1980s. Housed within a luxurious rose gold case measuring 42mm in diameter and a slender 10.8mm in height, lies the caliber 5954 movement, boasting a generous power reserve of 72 hours. This self-winding movement comprises 351 meticulously crafted components, ensuring precision and reliability in timekeeping.

Through the sapphire crystal case back, enthusiasts can marvel at the meticulous craftsmanship of the Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar. Adorned with a signature honeycomb pattern in rose gold, the oscillating weight adds a touch of elegance, while the silicon balance spring ensures precise timekeeping. This perpetual calendar boasts two user-friendly features that enhance its appeal. Firstly, it safeguards the movement and calendar mechanism from damage during adjustment while the display is changing. Secondly, the correctors are ingeniously placed under the lugs, allowing for manual adjustment of the calendar displays without the need for additional tools. Introduced by Blancpain in 2005 as a world-first for a perpetual calendar, this patented system ensures seamless functionality and adds to the watch's clean aesthetic.

The Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar is priced at $50,600, reflecting its exceptional craftsmanship and intricate complications, making it a true statement piece in haute horlogerie.
